I just found this awesome finger paint recipe for toddler and preschool crafts which makes it quick and easy to make your own finger paints for our crafts which are fun, and also 100% child friendly – cause I know how much kids like to eat their crafts sometimes.
There paints are ideal for our toddler crafts which include the easy toddler pirate ship, and the toddler pirate telescope as well as our upcoming crafts which will include a an easy toddler pirate chest and some Easter crafts.
We plan on posting our Easter crafts soon and our Easter crafts will include the cutest carrot patch with carrots that you can harvest made from our playdough recipe and which you can use the home-made finger paints to decorate. We will also be adding some Easter Sunday School and bible crafts like making Jesus and his donkey. Oh and I almost forgot – we will be adding some 3D pop-up cards in the next few days as well. A busy week for me so I had better give you this home-made finger paint recipe so I can get back to making those crafts I promised you.
For this recipe you will need:
3 Tablespoons of sugar
A half a teaspoon of salt
Half a cup of cornstarch
2 Cups of water
To make simply add all the ingredients in a saucepan, heat until the mixture thickens. Allow it to cool and use food coloring to make the colors you want.
A teaspoon of vinegar also tends to make the colours brighter.
This recipe was posted on the Kids Crafts Blog
For the home made finger paints to be even more good for your kids use natural food coloring instead of the manufactured type.
I really hope you have fun with these quick and easy finger paints – and hope it gets you crafting.
Have a fun crafty day
