This template contains the creation popup book you can make to teach children about the 7 days of creation. Each page contains one verse of the creation poem and has popup elements which God created that day. The popup books is super simple to make and fun as well. Just cut out the tabs and fold them, decorate the elements and paste them in place. Use double sided tape to add 3D type effects.

This is the creation poem:

There was God in the beginning,

But in the beginning, there was just nothing

God floated around and then He looked down

And what God saw then made him frown

 

God looked at the darkness and said “Let there be light.”

And so God made both the day and the night

And when day one ended, and God looked down,

He smiled and chuckled, He no longer frowned

 

On the second day, God looked down a little while later

But everywhere he looked, was covered with water

God frowned and thought, and then said “I know!”

He made the clouds float above, and the water swish below

 

On the third day, God thought, “But where shall I stand?”

So God made the sea drop down, clear past the land

Then tiny seeds and plants began to sprout up and grow

And at the end of the third day, God thought, “This is good, I know.”

 

On the fourth day God looked down, and then He sighed

“It’s so empty,” he thought, “Oh what a sight”

So God thought for a while and then made two big lights

He made the sun for the day and he made the moon for the night

 

And so when God looked down on the fifth day,

He was happy with what he saw, but then said, “I say …”

“Perhaps there is something more I wish.”

So He put the birds in the sky and filled the sea with fish

 

And on the sixth day, God made all the animals, on by one,

Things that crawled, and slithered, and even some that run!

And when he’d made the animals, God took one last look

And then he made a man and woman, just the same way he looked.

 

On the seventh day, God looked down and smiled

He hovered around watching the world for a while,

He’d made everything well and created the best

So on the seventh day, God finally had a well-deserved rest

For Sunday School teachers – The book can be used to teach the days of creation and can also be used in conjunction with the other creation crafts and activities.

 

What you need for the creation bible story pop-up book craft craft:

The printed template

Craft Paint – color of your choice – Crayola Washable Kid’s Paint (6 Assorted Colors) 2 oz Each- these are great for crafts for small kids … non toxic washable and perfect for crafts.

Instructions to make the Creation Bible Story Pop-up Book craft

Print out the templates

Cut out day one’s objects. Allow you kids to decorate them.

Fold the page so that the writing is facing you. Decide how many tabs you want and where you want the pop out elements to be.

Cut two evenly space lines from the centre of the page – as far as you want the image to pop out -the longer the tabs you cut the further the image stand out

Cut out the tabs you want for day one and stick the objects to the tabs

Fold the page with the writing on the inside and then open and pop out the tabs:

Glue the objects to the popup tab. You can sue double sided tape to glue on objects giving them a 3D effect. You can also make plastic tabs using a clear plastic contain and then glue the object to the plastic tab and then to the page or object on the page to create a “floating” object – especially for clouds above the mountains

Glue each completed page together – make sure you do not get glue on the tab section. Glue one at a time. Once all the pages are glued together glue fold the cover in half and glue the first and last page to the cover.
